Who I am

Hi, my name is Taylor Farscht and I am a fashion lover, chronically online tastemaker, and stylist. My experience spans spearheading social media campaigns, producing editorial and UGC content, and dressing clients for Fashion Week. I first fell in love with fashion at a young age, attending programs that deepened my skills and imagination; one of my favorites was a weeklong program at age ten where we learned vital fashion skills through the history and lessons of Alexander McQueen. I later attended Seventeen in the City where I worked with girls ages 14 to 17 writing articles and learning directly from fashion professionals. At 15 I became a Nordstrom fashion ambassador, meeting biweekly in store to learn buying, visual merchandising, and trend forecasting. I launched TailoringByTaylor as an Instagram blog at 13, which grew into an online blog and website I still use today. Prior to college I attended Syracuse University’s summer Fashion Design program to gain skills in metalwork, jewelry making, sketching, and advertising, and I recreated Alexander McQueen’s Spring 1999 runway look for Shalom Harlow out of paper. During my senior year of college I screen printed art tailgate wear and expanded TailoringByTaylor into an apparel brand, connecting with young women across the United States and bringing them joy through pieces I designed. I studied Digital Media and Communication at Florida State University with minors in Retail Entrepreneurship and Business Administration, taking courses such as social media campaigns to learn how to build effective campaigns quickly and collaborate in group settings. I completed the FSU IP Luxury Marketing program in Florence and Milan, learning from design houses like Gucci and Ferragamo, visiting the Ferragamo museum and Gucci Gardens, and studying retail strategy and consumer insights with industry leaders. I spent four years on the Strike Magazine team, starting on graphics where I assisted with layouts and social media, moving to the digital team to combine styling with content creation, and founding the styling team where I executed digital and editorial shoots, rhinestoned pieces, vintage shopped, and pulled looks from our team’s closets. I served as Vice President of Communications for Delta Gamma, growing our Instagram and TikTok and securing brand partnerships including Hello Molly. In my career I have held seasonal and internship roles that sharpened my client-facing and retail skills, including a summer sales associate position at Bloomingdale’s in Boca Raton, Florida, where I learned about luxury sales and consumer relationships, and two semesters as a campus representative for Amazon Prime Student where I hosted giveaways, created UGC, and helped grow the program among college students. In the summer of 2024 I served as an editorial intern in Hearst Magazines’ Books Department, creating A Plus content for Amazon, writing original copy, sourcing visuals, and coordinating with reporters, celebrities, and authors for campaigns. I currently work as a Personal Shopping Assistant at Bergdorf Goodman where I combine my styling, editorial, and digital experience, working with buyers, client service teams, vendors, and international clients to curate wardrobes, pull pieces, and help build a digital presence to sell virtually to clients worldwide. I am constantly educating myself on industry changes and remain passionate about luxury fashion from editorial spaces to the streets of Manhattan.
